Description:
As an Industrial Design Engineer II, you'll contribute to bringing innovative scientific instruments to life. Working collaboratively with R&D teams, you'll contribute to product ideation, execution, and commercialization that advances our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll apply your creative and technical expertise to develop aesthetically pleasing, user-centered designs that align with our visual brand language while meeting manufacturing requirements and cost targets. This role offers opportunities to influence product development from concept to production, ensuring our instruments maintain the highest standards of form and function.
Requirements:
Advanced proficiency in CAD software (particularly SolidWorks) and PLM systems
Expert-level skills in 3D surface modeling, including Class A and Curvature Continuous surfaces
Proficiency in 3D rendering software (Keyshot preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles for plastic parts and sheet metal
Demonstrated ability to create and evaluate CMF (Colors, Materials & Finishes) standards • Experience with product graphic artwork and documentation
Proven expertise in user-centered industrial design concepts
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
Strong project management and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with high sensitivity to design aesthetics and form development
Experience participating in design reviews and product development cycles
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Travel may be required up to 5%
Education:
Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience, preferably in medical or life sciences manufacturing environment
Preferred Fields of Study: Industrial Design or Industrial Engineering • Additional certifications in project management or design software a plus
